TTC BHM 2025 Campaign - City of Belonging: Celebrating Toronto’s Black Community Builders
TTC BHM 2025 Campaign: City of Belonging
01
OVERVIEW
The TTC in partnership with AstroSankofa celebrates Black History Month 2025 by honoring influential Black community leaders in Toronto who have made significant contributions across various sectors, including education, healthcare, and social justice. This year's tribute features powerful portraits of honorees like Dr. Akua Benjamin, Debbie Douglas, and Colleen Russell-Rawlins, among others. Created in collaboration with AstroSankofa Arts Initiatives, these artworks showcase the legacies of leaders who have shaped the city into a more inclusive and welcoming place. The portraits will be featured on TTC vehicles and at subway stations, highlighting the ongoing efforts to foster diversity and equity within the community.
